Free Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

Free accidental death and dismemberment benefit insurance policy for all its members up to the amount of $4000.00

Free Will and Testament

Free consultation, preparation, and execution of an individualized will and testamentary trust, general durable power of attorney, healthcare power of attorney, and living will directive to physicians for its members and their spouses, along with any updates or revisions.

Legal Representation

Free legal counsel to its members who encounter any legal issue that arises from the good faith performance of their duty and for any arbitrary or unreasonable administrative action while employed.

Financial Assistance

Direct financial assistance to its members and their families who are affected by a natural disaster, critical injury or death in the line of duty, a family crisis, or extraordinary need.

Legislative Representation

Legislative representation and advocacy for its members and commissioned officers in general in the Texas Legislature, especially regarding bills that affect the good faith performance of an officer’s duty, an officer’s safety, an officer’s family, an officer’s retirement benefits, and an officer’s employment conditions and benefits.

Event Sponsorship

Sponsorship for commissioned officer events, such as qualification shoots for special rangers, officer memorial fundraisers, and fundraisers for officers and families of officers affected by a critical incident or crisis.

Scholarships

TSTA awards college scholarships to qualified children of TSTA members and the public.

Membership is open to all actively employed commissioned officers of all ranks and all divisions of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Membership is open to all honorably retired/former officers of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
